must be one word made up of letters only up to 10 characters
in length.
2.0 Can anyone else access my account over
the Internet?
Access to your account is only possible using your
username, PIN, and answers to your additional security questions.
To help you keep them secret, your PIN and security answers
will not be displayed when you type them in. You are responsible
for keeping them secret. Please do not disclose your details
to anyone.
3.0 Is it safe to send and receive information
using Britannia International Online?
Britannia International has spent a long time developing
this service and security has been at the forefront of this
development. All messages go through a secure environment
and are encrypted to ensure your security and provide you
with the highest level of protection.
When using Britannia International’s secure communications
system to contact us or to view your information, all content
is encrypted using industry standard SSL technologies. SSL
technology secretly encodes information that is being sent
over the Internet between your computer and Britannia International,
helping to ensure that the information remains confidential.
If you see the blue key or a closed lock (examples
below) at the bottom of your screen, you can enter
your personal information with confidence. To take advantage
of our SSL technology, you are required to have an SSL compatible
browser. Browsers that are currently SSL compatible include
Netscape 2.0 or higher, Microsoft's Internet Explorer 2.0
or higher, and the latest version of AOL.

4.0 What if someone finds out about my personal
security details?
If you suspect someone knows your PIN or answers to your
security questions, you must contact us immediately. If
you do not do so, you will be liable for any unauthorised
transactions on your account.
1.0 What will I need to use this service?
A PC with Microsoft Windows or Apple Macintosh, an
account with an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and browser
capable of displaying 128bit encrypted pages.
2.0 Can I access this service from any computer?
Yes. Access is available from almost any Internet connected
PC or Apple computer, wherever you are in the world.
3.0 When I try to log on, the page doesn't
appear. Why?
Does your computer have anti-popup software installed?
If you do, you must deactivate this software to use Britannia
International Online, as it appears in a window in front
of the main page.
4.0 I don't have any software preventing
popups, but the logon page isn't appearing when I click
on the link.
If you already have a window open for Britannia International
Online it will load in the same window again. Check to see
that you haven't already got Britannia International Online
open behind the main window.
5.0 When I try to open Britannia International
Online, the page cannot be found. Why?
This will probably be because of your internet settings.
In order to use any secure pages, you must have 'use SSL
2.0', 'use SSL 3.0' and 'use TLS 1.0' selected. If you are
using Microsoft Internet Explorer, these settings can be
found in your internet options menu. Other browsers will
have a similar option.
6.0 I'm trying to use Britannia International
Online from work. Why won't it load?
Many companies restrict their employees' access to
secure sites. Ask your internal security department about
any firewall restrictions that are in place.
7.0 I have the correct security setting
and I'm not at work, but I still can't see Britannia International
Online. What can I do?
Some home firewall software will prevent access to secure
sites. If you have security software installed on your computer,
check the settings.
8.0 I've checked all the above, and I still
can't see Britannia International Online
You may need to upgrade your browser. We use 128bit
encryption, which some older browsers do not understand.
9.0 How do I upgrade and how much will it
cost?
You can get the latest browser for free. Our site is
best viewed in Microsoft Internet Explorer. Visit Microsoft
to find the latest version of Internet Explorer or visit
Netscape to find the latest version of Netscape Navigator
(other browsers are available).
10.0 The page loaded ok, but when I click
on 'next' a server error page appears.
You may have cookies disabled. Consult your internet
browser's help menu to find out how to enable them and try
again.
11.0 I left the page on my screen for a
while. When I came back to it, it wouldn't let me proceed.
This is because the pages are on a secure connection.
If they are untouched for a long period of time, the session
will 'time out'. This is to reduce the risk of someone else
reading the information in your form if it were left unattended.
12.0 My internet connection was lost. Once
I reconnected, I couldn't continue and had to start again.
Why?
If you disconnect from, and then reconnect to the internet,
you start a new session. This means that your original session
has timed out, so the secure connection has been stopped.
This is to protect your data.
13.0 My session was cancelled before I
could submit the information I entered. Can I retrieve the
information that I'd typed into it?
Unfortunately, no. If the secure session is ended before
you finish the form, all information is cleared out. This
is to ensure that no one can intercept your information.
